Gunners clinch playoff spot; Kings, Spartans win in Week 14 action
Major Arena Soccer League 3 saw a third of four playoff berths secured after DMV Gunners (7-4-0) defeated Salisbury Steaks. Philadelphia Spartans (8-3-0) and Baltimore Kings (5-5-1) also earned victories.
With one final playoff spot remaining Baltimore are set to host Fredericksburg Fire (6-5-0) this Saturday in a win-and-your-in showdown.
Baltimore Kings 6, Virginia Marauders 4
Lucasz Kalkowski hat trick was enough to earn the Kings three points and stay in the playoff hunt. Miguel Ventura added a goal and assist for Baltimore.
DMV Gunners 5, Salisbury Steaks 3
Five different goal scorers helped the Gunners clinch a playoff spot in their inaugural season. Rene Quintanilla scored the game winner in the fourth quarter before Jason D'Addario added an insurance marker a minute later. Nick Over allowed just three goals to earn the victory in net.
Salisbury (3-8-1) wrap up their inaugural season with three victories and 10 points.
Philadelphia Spartans 4, Fredericksburg Fire 3
A pair of third quarter goals by Hunter Dyson helped the Spartans secure the victory over Fredericksburg. The seven-goal game matched the lowest scoring game of the MASL 3 season.
